Completed HBI plant using WA ores using direct hydrogen and carbon monoxide reduction to produce iron with 92% Iron Content.

FINMET process plant using technology from VAI. Similar plants still operate in Venezuela and South Korea using iron ore fines to product HBI.

Boodarie Iron Beneficiation Plant 1999

Plant for benefication of ores from 6.5% gangue to 2.5 percent gangue required for HBI. The plant was operated without testing the reducibilty of the ores for the first 2 years leading to a difficult iron plant commissioning

Hot Briquetted Iron from the boodarie Plant was sold into BHP Australia, SE Asia, North Asia, China. 4.65 Mt shipped over 4 years with an approximate vale of USD 500 Million and was the worlds biggest capacity HBI plant ever built.
